San Giorgio Mykonos pop-up here to stay

sangiorgiomykonos

The Greek island of Mykonos is known for its white washed houses, long sandy beaches and wild summer night parties. Now, thanks to a successful collaboration between Design Hotels and the creative duo of Thomas Heyne and Mario Hertel - the team behind Mykonos’ infamous Paradise Club - those looking for a unique holiday experience now have another reason to visit the island.

San Giorgio Mykonos started out as a six-month pop-up experiment in 2012, but proved such a success that it will soon be back and here to stay.

The hotel will reopen May 10 for its second season as a fully-fledged Design Hotels member. New this summer is a fresh restaurant concept and a shuttle service, plus VIP entrance to the Paradise Club.

San Giorgio Mykonos

When you check in at San Giorgio you instantly feel like you’re stepping into the beach house of a favorite friend. But, imagine that friend doesn’t just own the 33-room house with its private beach, but also one of the most well known clubs in Europe.

Days are spent relaxing in the open-air lounge around the pool or on your own private veranda. In the evenings, enjoy the tranquility of the new palm tree garden, watching the sun set into the Mediterranean Sea.

Accompanied by chill-out music, colorful pillows, hammocks, carpets, lanterns and candles, hang out with world famous DJ’s like Bob Sinclar or Martin Solveig or watch them perform with stars such as Snoop Dog, LMFAO and Carl Cox at the Paradise Club.

For those who want a taste of the more hedonistic side to the island, the new club package is available to all who stay at the hotel. Threading a sense of sophistication throughout their entire stay on Mykonos, guests are provided with a regular shuttle service to and from the Paradise Club, taking clubbers door-to-door in style.

VIP entrance to the club is also included to make sure you don’t spend your night waiting in line.

Open Plan And Spirited
Additions to the hotel include the new restaurant concept – ‘Cantina’. This community-centric 30-seater restaurant uses honest, fresh from the market ingredients to create delicious Mediterranean dishes with a twist.

The manager of the restaurant, Ivan Ottaviani, is a well-established figure on the island and brings many years of experience to ‘Cantina’. Alongside the culinary offerings Ottaviani has also introduced an outstanding selection of wines to accompany the exotic flavors of the island.
