Experience Pop Art in Ancient Rome

The Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria hotel is offering new Andy Warhol packages to coincide with Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea exhibition ‘Warhol: Headlines’.

Rome is home to some of the world’s most famous art works and architecture, making it a great destination for budding artists, art collectors, art historians and of course, those who simply take interest in the subject.

This summer the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea will be exhibiting the works of pop art legend Andy Warhol, with the exhibition ‘Warhol: Headlines’, which will run until 09 September 2012.

To celebrate the exhibition, one of Rome’s top luxury hotels, the Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria Hotel, has created a special package incorporating tickets and luxurious accommodation.

A ‘living art gallery’ itself, the Rome Cavalieri is known for its exquisite collection of old master paintings, French furniture (Louis XV and First Empire), rare tapestries, sculptures, clocks, bronzes and other artefacts that line its walls and corridors, making it an ideal destination for art lovers.

However for guests wishing to experience the Warhol package, the art element of their trip will be enhanced as they relax and unwind within one of the hotels top suites; from the opulent Napoleon and Petronius suites, adorned with original empire antiques and containing some of the hotel’s most valuable works of art; to the Planetarium Suite, a treasure chest of antique and contemporary art, including a Robert Indiana series, where the ceilings are spangled with fibre optic stars.

Alternatively, guests looking to the ultimate Warhol experience may choose to stay in the Rome Cavalieri’s penthouse suite where a series of original Andy Warhol dollar sign silk screens adorn the bedroom walls. Furnished in a palatial style, the Penthouse suite is also home to a magnificent Karl Lagerfeld sofa, originally designed for his Paris home.
