The new Marti Istanbul is set to be the most exciting hotel opening in Istanbul in 2012.
The contemporary design hotel is set to open in the heart of Taksim in summer 2012 and has been created by the award-winning interior designer Zeynep Fadillioglu, most celebrated as being the first woman in Turkey to design and build a mosque.
Sedat Nemli, General Manager of Marti Istanbul, said: “Marti Istanbul is going to offer guests the finest elements of Turkish hospitality coupled with top international service, outstanding design and a fantastic location in the heart of vibrant Istanbul.”
Location Located in Taksim, the shopping, cultural and commercial heart of the city, the property is surrounded by theatres and restaurants, putting guests right at the centre of Istanbul life. Marti Istanbul is also within easy reach of all the major historic sites and ancient bazaars and the famous Bosphorus shores, making it the perfect base for a weekend of sightseeing.
Design Designed by internationally acclaimed Zeynep Fadilloglu and the team behind the redesign of Istanbul’s Dolmabahçe Palace, Marti Istanbul will be an impressive contemporary structure with exclusive touches that reflect the heritage of the city that surrounds it. Art will play a major part in the design of the hotel. With promises of a projected installation of running water and artwork from Kutlug Ataman, a Turkish Carnegie prizewinner, this hotel will be the number one hot spot in Istanbul.
The hotel will have 270 luxurious guest rooms and suites spread over 11 floors, all of which have been designed to the highest of standards using contemporary design teamed with subtle Ottoman flair.
At the heart of Marti Istanbul will be an impressive Atrium that will fill the hotel with natural light. There will also be an Ottoman tent located at the centre of the Atrium, with hand painted designs lining the walls. The tent space will be in keeping with a traditional Ottoman lounge, but with a contemporary twist.
Spa Guests staying in one of the many suites will have access to the SPA VIP Suite. The VIP Suite will include a couples massage room, adventure shower, private resting area, sauna, Turkish bath and cool room. The suite has been designed to ensure that guests feel as though they are immersed in a section of an Ottoman Palace.
