Qualia voted world's best resort

Australia’s Qualia Resort has been voted the best resort in the world by readers of Conde Nast Traveller.

Qualia is located on Hamilton Island on the Great Barrier Reef and beat off top resorts in the Maldives and French Polynesia to take top spot in the 2012 Conde Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards.

Chairman of Hamilton Island Enterprises, Sandy Oatley, said: “This recognition by such sophisticated and well-travelled readers is truly gratifying.”

Qualia is the first Australian property to top the respected poll in its 25-year history and scored a perfect score of 100 in all categories, including design, service, rooms, food, location and activities. It’s one of only four resorts worldwide ever to have received a flawless score.
